Truth
For hundreds of years, philosophers have spend their lives wrestling whether truth exists. Those who accepted the existence of this believe it is a spiritual reality, not an entity. Only the wisest and best human being can take a glance at it. For example, in the stock market, when we lay eyes on highs and lows of the prices, we are likely to be overwhelmed by the skin-deep trend. Once we dig into investment, we will know this is only the tip of the iceberg. In this process, we are approaching truth. At least we are unveiling the mask of truth. However, those who dismiss the existence of truth believe truth is an empty notion. In their eyes, there is no evidence to lend support the existence.
Those who reason this way reject the idea of truth as epiphany. For example, when we read news, we may come across an article about people jumping out of building as a result of family crisis, emotional problems, and workload pressure. People in this kind of situation are bound to believe that life is hopeless. But is it true? Maybe they don’t believe the truth. Consequently, it's of little help to them in our world.
Beauty
The saying “Beauty is truth, truth beauty” attempts to shed light on the close relationship between beauty and truth. But what is beauty? When we see a sunrise, the innermost emotion and excitement are aroused. In such moment of intense aesthetic experience, we are likely to feel serenity, enjoying the beauty of the natural scenes, like rain after the bamboo forest, the evening light, or autumn field. These natural phenomena are so beautiful that they will surely waken the vision of greater beauty. For hundreds of years, philosophers have spend their lives battled over the true meaning of beauty. In my mind, beauty is indefinable, but is accessible; beauty is indefinable, but is perceptible. In addition, beauty is unutterable, it is unwise to describe it and to invest meaning and significance in it.
Goodness
The social changes have imposed a great impact on our recognition of goodness. In the last decade, people are urged to be self-disciplined, and self-knowledge; people are compelled to be self-effacing and self-denial. But today we will see a totally different picture. Self-effacing is considered incapability. And self-denial turns from virtue to vice. People who once help others are regarded as saint, but are now disparaged as apple-polishers. Different world views may lead to entirely different outcomes. Basically, morality is the guarantee for goodness.
