2017年2月1日,中国国际电视台 CGTN (中央电视台 新国际传播机构)以《THE FUTURE OF EDUCATION - Bringing the internet to the classroom》为题报道了一所已经消失的乡村学校——四川宜宾白云小学,引发对中国近14万所农村小规模学校的存活与发展问题的思考。这是 CGTN 连续三天报道互+学校的第一篇。

This is a science class with a difference.
这堂科学课有些特别。
Li Lili's students are thousands of kilometers away.

But distance doesn’t stop their creativity- in fact teaching online in this way has encouraged them to find new alternatives.
但距离并未对他们的创造力产生阻碍,相反,这种方式的在线教育鼓励了他们有更多新选择。
Due to the school's inconvenient location -in a small village near the city of Yibin - and its poor condition, it only has sixteen students and three teachers.
这所坐落于宜宾市一个小村庄的学校,因其不便的地理位置、落后的条件,只有16名学生和3名教师。

"There are now about 140,000 rural schools in China, that are of a similar size to the one behind me, which enrolls fewer than 200 pupils. They all face the same problems - a serious shortage of teachers, and not enough resources to properly teach thecurriculum."
目前,中国约有14万所农村学校,这些学校的规模和我身后的这所学校差不多,学生人数都在200人以下。它们共同面临着师资不足、教育资源短缺等问题。
Just a few kilometers away, a similar sized primary school was closed down in October.
就在2016年10月,距此几公里远的一所小规模学校——白云小学刚刚被撤并。
Guo Yulin used to be a student here...since its closure, she has transferred to a larger primary school in Yibin which is connected with better educational resources.
郭钰琳曾是白云小学的学生,现已转学到宜宾市另一所规模更大、教育资源更丰富的小学。

“Our school didn’t have internet until last October. We had so many interesting courses such as drawing, singing and English which we didn’t have before.”
我们学校(白云小学)是2015年10月才开通网络的,接入了许多以前我们从未接触过的课堂,例如绘画课、音乐课和英语课,这些课堂非常有趣,所以我非常开心。
This has also given hope to the teaching staff.
互联网也为教师队伍带来了新希望。
Zou Changjiang was Yulin’s former teacher.After the school closed down, he transferred to this new school and broughtwith him some new ideas about teaching.
邹长江曾是钰琳的老师。在白云小学关闭后,他调任到这所新学校(新店小学),并带来了关于教育的新理念。

“Internet courses help us to make up some of the content we cannot provide to the children ourselves. I saw the changes after learning from these online courses with teachers in big cities. The pupils are more confident and talkative. It took me some time to learn about these modern technologies and especially getting to understand the importance of using them. I’ll bring these ideas to the teachers here.”
互联网课堂的接入弥补了学校自身师资的不足。我见证了白云小学的学生们向大城市老师们通过在线课堂学习所带来的变化,他们变得更加自信、健谈。对我而言,学习现代化技术到理解使用现代科技的重要性并非易事。但是我会努力将这些想法传递给新店小学的老师们。
Zou doesn’t know how far he can go in his new school, which faces closure much like his previous one did. But with the past year of using online courses, he says he now has some confidence that he can have a more diversified offering in the classroom.
因为新店小学同样面临着随时被撤并的威胁,邹长江老师并不知道他在新店小学能走多久。但他表示,经过过去一年的互联网课堂学习,他现在对于提供更多样化的课堂更有自信。
With the course coming to an end, students have just completed their first wind-powered vehicle, constructed with help from a teacher far away from the school.
跟着线上教师的学习了一节课,学生们已经能够完成第一架风力驱动的工具的制作。
Although they’ve only had few online lessons so far, the pupils are keen to learn more.
尽管目前学生们拥有的互联网课堂并不多,他们仍旧渴望学习更多的知识。

But most of these children don't have internet access at home.
在家里,大多数的学生却没有机会再接触互联网的学习。
The question of how online courses will change the fate of these schools remains to be answered. But one thing iscertain - teaching via the internet has given both students and staff access to better educational resources in an efficient way.
互联网课堂将如何改变这些学校的命运,我们并不知晓。有一件事情可以确定的是,通过互联网+教育,能为学生和教师队伍带来更好的教育资源。
原白云小学的守望者邹长江老师说:“自从认识沪江后,白云小学和互加计划实现完美对接,也成为了白云后来的上课模式。师生从应试教育的环境中解放出来,教育效果明显增强。教师找到了教育的方向,学生在学习中找到了成长的快乐,白云孩子的创新能力超乎大家的想象。教学真正实现了互联网模式。师生的创造性都激发出来。”

而今虽然白云小学消失了,但白云模式和白云故事却正在让越来越多的农村小规模学校从中得到启发。
